Introduction

Hello! My name is Emily Rush and I teach first grade at Lincoln Elementary in Beatrice, Nebraska. I currently live with my husband, Cody, and my dog, Apollo, in Lincoln and commute each day. We are expecting a new member of the family due March 27th! I moved to Lincoln after I graduated with my teaching degree from the University of Nebraska-Omaha. My husband is a full-time dental student in his final year at the UNMC College of Dentistry. Once he graduates, we plan to move to Grand Island where he will be an associate dentist at a private practice.

I love technology! I have loved to play on computers since I was little. My dad's job consists of working on and fixing computers quite a bit so he taught me everything I know. I used to be a PC person because that's what my dad used, but all of our computers at school growing up were Mac so when I bought my own laptop, I bought a MacBook Air and got my dad and siblings to switch over, as well (:

I use technology every day in the classroom. I use my PC laptop, projector, speakers, and document camera for many activities throughout the day. My students use PC desktops in our computer lab and iPads in the classroom. I currently use MS Office for Mac 2019.

I decided to pursue my Master's Degree through Peru State because two of my coworkers had gone through the regular program and had great things to say about it and I decided to start it when I did because all of my coworkers told me to get my Master's done before I started having children!

I plan to continue teaching in the primary level with my degree and maybe one day become a curriculum and instruction specialist for my building later on down the road.
